Your practice. Your information.
Privacy policy
A clear account of what stays on your device, and what happens when you choose to share.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Transcend iPhone app and its public website at iemclients.com, operated by Jorge Garza. It does not describe other apps, even if they have the same developer.
For privacy questions, contact upgradedigitalnetwork@gmail.com.
Information stored in the app
Transcend stores the information needed for your focus practice in its local storage on your device:
- Your practices, task names, first steps, and session setup drafts.
- Saved and active sessions, including dates, planned and counted duration, pauses reflected in counted time, and voluntary distraction check-in counts.
- Optional reflections, next steps, parked thoughts, and unfinished text drafts.
- Preferences such as scenery, sound, haptics, reminder time, and onboarding state.
The app uses this information to run and restore your sessions, show your history and progress, and remember your choices. There is no app-managed cloud sync or developer-operated database containing this history. We cannot look up or restore your local sessions for you.
Optional notifications and permissions
Daily reminders and session-end notifications are off by default. Transcend asks iOS for notification permission only when you enable one of these features. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device, not sent by a remote push service.
Notification text is generic and does not include your task names, thoughts, or reflections. Alerts can appear on your Lock Screen depending on your iPhone settings. You can turn them off in Transcend or change their permissions in iPhone Settings.
Transcend does not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location to provide its focus features. It does not monitor or block your use of other apps.
Exports and feedback you choose to share
In Settings → Your data, you can create a CSV of saved sessions or a JSON export of your app records and preferences. These files can include private text you entered. Raw monotonic device-clock anchors are not included in JSON exports.
Transcend prepares an export in its temporary storage and opens the iOS share sheet. You decide whether and where to save or send it. Any app, storage provider, or person you share it with then handles that copy under their own practices.
The feedback composer similarly creates a text file containing your message and the app version. Nothing is sent automatically. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you include. We use them to respond to your request and troubleshoot issues, not for advertising. Email is handled through our email provider.
Please share only what is needed to explain your issue. You do not need to send your entire history, and should not send passwords or verification codes.
Keeping and deleting information
Local app records remain until you remove them, clear local data, or remove the app’s data from your device. You can delete individual saved sessions and parked thoughts, or use Settings → Your data → Clear local data for a fresh start.
Clearing local data removes your app-owned session records, custom practices, saved thoughts, active session, drafts, preferences, and temporary export files, and cancels Transcend’s notifications. The app then returns to its default starter practices.
Depending on your device settings, iOS may include app data in iCloud or computer backups. Clearing the app does not erase older backups or files you already exported or shared. Manage those copies through the relevant Apple settings, storage service, or recipient. A restored device backup may bring back data from that backup.
If you have contacted us by email, your support correspondence may be retained to respond to your request and maintain a record of the issue. You can ask us to delete that correspondence using the contact address below. We do not have access to your on-device records and cannot delete backups or copies held by other people or services.
Apple services and diagnostics
Apple independently handles App Store distribution and may process store activity, device information, and diagnostics under its own privacy practices and your settings. If you use a TestFlight build, Apple’s beta-testing service may share crash reports, usage information, and feedback with the developer. These Apple-provided services are separate from Transcend’s local session storage.
Read App Store & Privacy and, if applicable, TestFlight & Privacy.
